Okay, spring is almost here, the groundhog has left the building, and it’s time to start thinking of the new spring fashion trends heading your way! My very unpopular opinion of loving cold weather more than warm weather will be curbed for this blog post… Just this once though, and I will tell you all about 5 favorite trends I am foreseeing for this warmer weather heading our way. I am sitting here looking out my window and it’s pouring down rain and freezing, so this post seems a bit counter intuitive but knowing Oregon, the sun will be making it’s way here soon. So naturally, it’s time to start stocking up on the latest trends and colors that will carry you into spring and summer.
#1 White Boots
That’s right, you guessed it. White on white ON white, and I’m seriously here for it. After I purchased these boots, and received this bag I knew that my spring wardrobe was going to be on point! I have never owned a white pair of shoes, but after pairing these boots with many outfits, it’s definitely going to be a trend for me this year. Not only does it add a level of sophistication and class, but also it changes the dynamic of the entire look. Instead of pairing this orange dress with my go to black booties, I knew I needed to step out and pair it with these little white boots, and yes, they were for sure made for walking.
We all knew you were thinking it. Or maybe that was just my mom singing it in the background like she did when I came out wearing them…
The best part about these boots, is the price and comfort-ability. Less than $75, easy to walk in, and they don’t hurt my feet! That sounds like a dream as spring is coming here and we all know I’m going to be hiking for those flower photos.
#2 Mini Skirts
Yes I did just say mini skirts, and my Clueless/Mean Girls/Legally Blonde loving self is definitely okay with it. One of the biggest reasons why I love mini skirts, is the ability to accessorize and wear multiple shoe and blouse choices. A mini skirt with a good pair of OTK boots can be an outfit for any occasion… It always works! I loved being able to pair this mini skirt with a turtle neck because it isn’t full spring yet, but I know how easy it will transition into the warmer weather.
Transitional pieces are a woman on a budget’s best friend. Now say that 10 times fast. I HAVE to purchase clothing that I know will work with many different seasons and looks. That’s why the mini skirt has been a go to for me for months now. Whether it is patterned like this beauty, or a corduroy mini skirt with a matching blazer. Gimme them all! Seriously. I suspect we are going to see many different mini skirt looks this upcoming season, and I will be following suit. That’s for sure.
#3 White Purses
Yes, I get it. We already talked about white boots but COME ON, I’m not going to completely disregard one of my favorite things right now. This white purse has been my savior this winter, and I can’t even imagine how often I’ll use it this spring. Not only does it match my favorite boots right now, but it is the PERFECT pop that I need for my outfits. Especially in this dreary weather we are experiencing still. There is something so lovely about a bright colored purse, that isn’t too much. A good white or nude have always been my go to, and I feel as though they add a level of chicness to an outfit.
A good white bag is a little unexpected, not too understated, but isn’t too loud. I mean why not have a purse in every neutral color you can? It will match all of your outfits, because again, we need to chose items that are multi dimensional and don’t break the bank!
#4 Gold and Pearls
Don’t forget about the pearls. I mean I don’t think this is a “new spring trend” but it’s something I will NEVER take out of my wardrobe. I have always adored pearls and think it tops off any look. Even just shorts and a tee shirt, add some pearl studs just and give them the old razzle dazzle. Like I have said time and time again, if it’s good enough for the queen, it’s good enough for me. These pearl studs from Lagos Jewelry have been such a wonderful addition to my growing jewelry collection. If you have been following me for awhile, I am VERY new to accessorizing and jewelry all together. Every time I find a piece that is multi-dimensional (key word in this post today) I snag it!
Oh the answer is no.
Perfect for any season, any outfit, and any occasion.
I was about to say the stupid joke you say when you talk about oranges and bananas, but I will spare you. In all honesty though, I already used it on my Instagram so I figured I couldn’t get away with it again. So this is it, ORANGE. It’s my new obsession for any season, but especially for spring and summer. This dress from & Other Stories was literally too much to handle, and I can’t even WAIT for all of the orange items I will be collecting. Orange is one of those colors that isn’t too abrasive and harsh, but I think looks good on every skin color and every hair color. It’s really multi dimensional (favorite thing) and also flows with the seasons. SO as you step into spring, let’s step into orange.
I mean common, orange you glad I didn’t say banana?
Sorry, had to.
So there you have it! My 5 favorite things about the seasons coming up, and the trends you need to look out for! What are your favorite things about spring, and a fashion trend you are excited for?
