2019 is in full swing, and we are all de-cluttering our life, especially our home office. I have focused on re-hauling my home office, and finding ways to add a little more class to my daily surroundings. Once January started and we all started working on our new year’s resolutions (glances at gym membership card with tears in my eyes), I decided start taking my home office more seriously. This, of course, had to start with the right furniture, which can be so hard to decide on! For me I knew I wanted to go with pieces that was timeless, elegant, and functional. That is where DHP Furniture came into play, and believe me, it came in with a strong game!
So let me explain before you think I’m TOO cool for school with a home office. In full disclosure, I still live at home with my momma (Hollah!), but really needed to create a space that I could sit down and focus. She was gracious enough to let me transform the spare room into my own little space. Its not too extravagant or anything like that, but even having my own corner was such a blessing. The more I continue to grow my business the more I realize how important it is to have a space to thrive. Whatever that may be for you! For me, it was creating a space with class, organization, and of course aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The hardest part about creating a permanent space, is making sure the colors are right and the furniture is on point.
I decided to role with my classic grey/silver colors (duh) and wanted to get pieces of furniture that I knew wouldn’t go out of style quickly. Especially because I am on a budget and plan to move out of mom’s house eventually… Well at least before I’m 40… Setting my sites high here ladies.
Anyway, the best part about the furniture from DHP is the functionality, and also the quality. Not only do the couch and chair match perfectly and are so classy, but the couch turns into a futon! There is nothing that satisfies my inner 90’s child more than that… Let me tell you.
I also loved the way they showed up. It wasn’t a big hassle and all we had to do was put the furniture together with very easy instructions (until I kept reading them wrong anyway), and that was that! No trying to figure out when they could deliver, no having to rent a truck to pick it up. It was like Badda Bing Badda Boom. FURNITURE. I dream of Genie style. Did anyone get that last sentence?
I think it is SO important to create a work space that enables you to think, be creative, and really feel comfortable. I have spent too many years sitting on my bed feeling TOO relaxed. Sitting at a dining room table and feeling like I need to stretch every 10 minutes, and everything in between. Trust me, I get it! Coming from someone on a budget, I don’t have a lot of cash to spend on items that aren’t a necessity. That’s why I always try to shop smart and get deals.
I was able to get a desk at an estate sale and renovate it to look modern, which enabled me to splurge on a new computer and organizational items for my office. I also think it is totally worth it to splurge on furniture because you will be using it every single day. Just like I already have been doing with my DHP furniture. So if you are in the market for all things classy, cozy, and affordable, please look into DHP furniture. It is the best decision I have made for 2019. It has set me up for success in this new year. What are your favorite office items?
