Picking the right bedding can be a bit of a task. Curious how to pick the right bedding that will work with various design aesthetics? Keep reading to see how to remove the headache from choosing the right bedding.
This Post is not sponsored, everything I say about Brooklinen Sheets are my own opinion!
Redecorating can be so hard! Especially in our mid-twenties. We are out of high school and college, and now have a space to call our own. Choosing bedding has always been difficult for me.My bedroom is the room I spend the most amount of time in, and a place I want to feel comfortable and cozy. When I decided to get some new bedding this fall, I knew I wanted something basic but classy! Especially because it gave me the ability to paint, and pick decor that wasn’t necessarily based off of a duvet’s pattern. I knew if I ever wanted to re-decorate in the future, choosing simple bedding would make that much easier.
Now I know what you are thinking, how am I suppose to decorate my room in the woods? I get it, I really do. But I was seriously not going to pass up the opportunity to take my mattress out to a mountain and make my bed. Why did I choose to do this? Simply put, this bedding was like sleeping in a dream, and how dreamy is this setting?
These Brooklinen sheets and Duvet cover are the softest and most luxe bedding I’ve ever had. Like I said previously, I knew I wanted classic bedding without a lot of patterns. These grey sheets and white duvet cover were JUST what I was looking for.
Do they match everything in my room? – CHECK
Do they match my curtains, decor, and blankets? – CHECK
Do they match the woods? – UH DUH
1: Choose bedding that will match your room
This piece of advice might seem like a very, OBVIOUSLY OLIVIA, moment. But I find that when redecorating a lot of people will match their surroundings with their patterned bedding. I have done this in the past, and trust me… When you get tired of the floral and want to change things up, it’s not as easy! Especially if you are on a budget like me, or are heading off to college. Choosing bedding that is simple but classic really does make transitional decorating so much easier and also cheaper!
That’s why I went with white. I have never had a white duvet, but mixing it with the blankets and pillows I already had was WAY easier. Also, it is so crisp and clean, it creates a really pretty aesthetic.
2: Choose quality ALWAYS
Guys, you sleep in your bedding EVERY NIGHT! Don’t skimp out on the softness and coziness of good sheets like Brooklinen. It makes the world of difference when you crawl into something soft and welcoming at night. I really do think it makes the difference of good night sleep, and it’s so worth the little bit of extra money.
Going with a fun color or a pattern for sheets is always a good choice! You don’t necessarily have to see the pattern all the time, but just enough to make your dreams a little more exciting. I went with plain grey for these sheets, but I also invested in some cute check pattern sheets that I can mix or match.
3: Choose the right accessories
Now I’m sure you are thinking, “but Olivia, if I choose a white duvet, how can I spice things up?”
You gotta choose the right accessories for your bedding.. OBVI! Sure, white and grey are so classic and chic, but it really does come down to the extra bit of pizazz and decor you add to it. Not only did I score on this grey blanket from Home goods. Which is HANDS DOWN my favorite blanket ever, but I also was able to get all the decorative pillows I needed.
Unfortunately the truck could only fit a certain amount of bedding on this trek to the mountain, but I will link them below
Okay so there you have it, my not-so-subtle way of showing you that sleeping in cozy sheets is TRULY like sleeping in a dream. How could I prove it any differently?
Definitely take time when you are buying bedding, and go with the classic and chic look. Never underestimate the power of luxury sheets, and be confident in your decorating skills!
