What does fringe mean to you? A reoccurring 70’s dream, an unraveling thread, or maybe a millennial issue of the love of destroyed denim. To me it is a benefit, a fringe benefit if you will. A little bit of extra magic, flare, and style.
Black jeans have always been my go to. I mean they go with everything, right? I wanted to find something that was a basic, but had a slight difference to it. I could always go for black trousers, or black skinny jeans , but what’s the fun in that? These tassels swung right in my direction, and topped off this whole outfit, (and every other outfit too).
I’m not saying this purse isn’t adorable, but I definitely pretend like it is Chanel.
I don’t often find great deals. Small deals, yes, but not great ones. What constitutes as a great deal? I’d say getting this vest for $17.00 definitely makes the cut. Macy’s always seems to provide the perfect assortment of items when it comes to spending less money. Their sales go above and beyond, just like this vest. I have been living in my long tan coat so often this winter, so an item of the same appearance but not as thick, was just the ticket.
Along with my other dynamic pieces, I had to top this outfit off with my round sunglasses from Ann Taylor. For the longest time I always thought sunglasses had to be designer or a certain price to be fashionable or beautiful, which isn’t true at all. These sunnies were less than $50.00 and I have worn them more than any other pairs I have. It’s definitely easy to get caught up in labels, price tags, and brands and not see the beauty in a piece. Try and see past those things, and pick up the items you truly like and appreciate.
This outfit has been at the top of my list this past season, mostly because of the multiple ways of combining these items. I was able to use these pieces for my photos, and for casual days out on the town. Mixing and matching items is so key to me in my life right now because it saves money, and time. Though statement pieces are the cornerstone of fashion, sometime simple items are the way to go. I, like you, would love to adorn my closet with bright colors and patterned statements, but when money is definitely an object, simple pieces are key. I’m not going to sit here and be untruthful about my life, and pretend like I have endless money for whatever items I want, because I don’t! I’m still figuring things out, paying things off, and climbing the ladder of success. To do that, I must compromise, find certain pieces that work for many different events, and learn to work with what I have. I suppose you could relate that to every circumstance in your life. Just know that no matter what you have in your closet, how you like to piece it together, or how much money you may have, it doesn’t matter. A beautiful piece is a beautiful piece no matter the price tag. Don’t be afraid to find good deals and buy items that are in your budget, not everyone else’s. These are all the fringe benefits of fashion, and they come in all different aspects, even on the bottom of your jeans.
